FAQ

Questions couples ask. Answered plainly.

Still unclear? Give us a quick call — we'll walk you through your specific case in minutes.

What is the procedure of marriage registration?
Fill out an application form with personal details, submit birth certificates, address proofs, invitation cards and passport-size photos, plus a valid consent statement. Authorities may publish a public notice and observe a 30-day inquiry window where applicable. Upon successful verification, the certificate is issued. Call us for a case-specific walkthrough.
What is the procedure of court marriage?
Both parties give notice to the Marriage Officer of the district where at least one has resided for 30+ days. After the 30-day objection window, the marriage is solemnized in the presence of three witnesses and a certificate is issued. Under other Acts, the timeline can be compressed to same-day. Call us for the fastest eligible path.
What is the difference between "Court Marriage" and "Court Marriage Registration"?
Court Marriage and Registered Court Marriage are effectively the same — in both the final certificate is issued by the court and is verifiable on the government portal. The distinction vs. a Social/Civil marriage is that the latter involves rituals in front of family and friends, while a Court Marriage is solemnized in court itself by filing prescribed documents.
Is court marriage possible in one day?
Yes — via the Hindu Marriage Act (if both partners are Hindu), Arya Samaj procedure, or the Delhi Govt Tatkal process. The Special Marriage Act has a mandatory 30-day notice window which cannot be waived. Call us to pick the fastest legal route for your case.
I'm visiting India only for a short period — what's the best option?
For short visits, we typically guide couples toward the Arya Samaj + registration route or the Hindu Marriage Act registration, which can be completed in a single day when both parties qualify. For inter-faith or foreigner cases we design a custom pre-arrival prep so the court visit is a single, short appointment.
What documents are required for court marriage and marriage registration?
Age proof, ID proof, address proof for both parties, 8 passport-size photos each, and 3 witnesses with ID. For foreign nationals: NOC or eligibility-to-marry certificate from their embassy. For divorcees: divorce decree. For widow/widower: death certificate of ex-spouse. Full checklist is on this page.
What extra documents are required for non-Indian citizens?
A valid passport with visa, address proof of Indian stay, and a No-Objection / Single-Status / Eligibility-to-Marry certificate issued by the respective embassy in India. We coordinate the embassy liaison as part of our service.
Can an inter-religion couple register marriage on the same day?
Inter-religion marriages typically go through the Special Marriage Act, which has a 30-day notice window. If one partner converts prior to the marriage (a personal decision), the Hindu Marriage Act can permit same-day registration. Call us to walk through the options.
How do I proceed with your services?
Give us a call or WhatsApp — we'll do a detailed analysis of your case and advise the solution applicable as per the law, along with transparent fees.
Why does the court marriage process fee vary?
Fees depend on state and city jurisdiction, the specific Marriage Act applicable, and whether documents like embassy NOCs, divorce decrees, or translations are required. Every quote we give is itemized — no hidden charges.
Can we register under the Hindu Marriage Act if my partner is from a different religion?
The Hindu Marriage Act applies to marriages where both parties are Hindu (including Buddhist, Jain, Sikh). If your partner belongs to a different religion, the clean legal route is the Special Marriage Act. We'll advise based on your specific situation.
What is Tatkal Court Marriage of the Delhi Government?
Tatkal is the Delhi Government's expedited marriage registration service, designed to issue the marriage certificate within 24 hours for eligible applicants with complete documentation. We handle the full Tatkal filing end-to-end.
What is the age required for the bride and groom?
Groom must have completed 21 years; bride must have completed 18 years. Both parties must be of sound mind and not within the prohibited degree of relationship.
Is court marriage possible if both parties are 18+?
Under the Special Marriage Act and most personal laws, the groom must be 21+. If you are both 18+ but the groom is under 21, we cannot legally solemnize a marriage until he completes 21 years of age.
What extra documents are required in case of divorcee, widow, or widower?
Divorcees must submit the certified divorce decree from the court. Widow or widowers must submit the death certificate of the ex-spouse, along with all standard age / ID / address documents.
